Petra recently helped “create better” for our client NorthBay Healthcare, a nonprofit healthcare provider with hospitals in Fairfield and Vacaville, Calif. From oncology to open heart surgery, and from birth through the end of life, NorthBay Healthcare prides themselves on their team of medical experts and their ongoing commitment to delivering advanced medicine to the community they serve. In 2016, NorthBay chose Petra to manage the modernization and expansion of their facilities, and equipment upgrades.
Projects Petra helped to expand and modernize:
According to Susan Harman, Petra’s Director of Medical Equipment Planning, the Petra team managed equipment planning details and specifications, including seismic anchoring information for the fixed medical equipment; procurement and approval for all phases of procurement process in coordination with the NorthBay Purchasing team. Petra also worked closely with the contractor and was responsible for receiving equipment, coordinating all installs to ensure all departments were ready and operational for “stock and staff” prior to licensing. Specific departments within the five areas listed above included Emergency Department (ED), Surgical Services, Central Sterile, Imaging, Cardiovascular OR, Hybrid OR, Neuro OR, DaVinci robot OR, General ORs and Trauma ORs. This included installs of 16 post-anesthesia care beds and 22 medical surgical beds.
“We are dedicated to ‘creating better’ strategic facility plans and project management processes that result in exceptional building and equipment outcomes and patient experiences, and NorthBay project is a great example of how we do it,” said President Craig Beam.
Petra’s management of systemwide capital and facilities allows for collaboration with health care leaders and owners to make decisions that lead to a more defined, informed future. Our strategic planning capability is an integrated process that combines strategic forecasting, financial analysis and facility planning. The NorthBay project was an example of Petra helping with the culmination of another successful project.
